A Message from the Northwest Winterfest Team
For years, Northwest Winterfest has been a beloved holiday tradition, transforming the Spokane Expo Center into a magical experience from late November through early January.
We understand many of you are beginning to plan your holiday season, and we want to provide a transparent update on our plans for this Winter.
2025: A Transition Year and “Long Winter Nap”
Northwest Winterfest will not be held at the Spokane Expo Center this year.
This “Long Winter Nap” is a strategic year off as we dedicate our full efforts to working on a major 2026 announcement that will usher in an exciting new era for the event.
Where to Experience the Winterfest Spirit This Season
- Mid-November – Mid-January: Sacred Heart Children’s Hospital (For patients and their families)
- Mid-January (Lunar New Year) – Mid-February: River Park Square and Select Libraries (For everyone)

Northwest Winterfest is the Pacific Northwest’s brightest & largest illuminated lantern display and cultural celebration.
You will have a magical experience as you tour dozens of authentically-crafted lighted lanterns. These merry and bright displays celebrate the winter season, its whimsy, its holidays, and its traditions from cultures of the world stretching to every corner of the globe.
Northwest Winterfest is an indoor, self-guided, accessible walking tour. Stroll at your own pace and discover the magical lights and sounds. Plus enjoy live cultural entertainment, kid’s activities, great food, soft drinks, and hot beverages.
And kids 10 and under always get in FREE when accompanied by a ticketed adult, because we don’t want any child to miss the magic of Northwest Winterfest! .
